we equip

Committed to helping leaders and carers learn to engage a hurting world around them by providing both ‘friend to friend’ and formal biblical counselling skills.
‘Equip God’s people to do His work.’ Eph 4:12

church member based training

BCNZ is confident and competent to use the small group training resources produced by CCEF and RPM Ministries. These not only provide valuable skills in ministry but are also an excellent means for personal spiritual growth.

counselling courses – basic level

This class is the first of a series of two courses designed to equip those who want to minister to family and friends at a coffee shop level.

how people change

A 12 week, BCNZ conducted equipping course for people wanting to learn how God transforms us by His grace through the gospel in practical ways as we struggle and suffer.

helping others change

The second in a 12 week series of BCNZ conducted equipping courses for carers wanting to learn how to counsel the gospel in practical ways to those struggling or suffering.

counselling courses – advanced level

The advanced component is comprised of 4 courses to complete a three year training programme that equips the committed to better care like Christ.

gospel-centred counselling

Author Bob Kellemen states “if we are to view the Bible accurately and use the Bible competently, then we must understand the Bible’s story the way God tells it – as a gospel victory narrative”.
BCNZ’s advanced equipping course using Kellemen’s Gospel-Centered Counselling is for those who care and who want to learn how to counsel the gospel to those struggling or suffering by effective use of Scripture.

gospel-centred conversations

“Bob has a unique gift to take the truths of the gospel he knows so well, and skillfully move them to the heart and help others do the same. Gospel Conversations: How to Care Like Christ is one of the finest demonstrations of that skillful movement I have ever read.”
BCNZ’s course using Kellemen’s Gospel Conversation is for those who care and want to learn how to develop their relational competencies to better minister to those who are struggling and hurting.

crisis

Different crisis situations exist. A carer needs to recognise these differences and the needs, kinds of help required, and the spiritual issues confronting the person in crisis. BCNZ’s advanced Crisis course will better prepare you to address such situations.

conflict redeemed

A 6 week, BCNZ conducted course, which equips God’s people to focus on growing through their inevitable conflicts. Giving a right focus will improve that process and enable you to experience the incomparable blessing of being conformed to the likeness of Christ in the messiness of our personal relationships.

how people change

course details:

A changed heart is the bright promise of the gospel. When the Bible talks about the gift of a new heart, it doesn’t mean a heart that is immediately perfected, but a heart that is capable of being changed. Jesus’ work on the cross targets our hearts, our core desires and motivations, and when our hearts change, our behaviour changes. It’s amazing to watch people who once seemed stuck in a pattern of words, choices, and behaviours start living in a new way as Christ changes their hearts.

The seminar How People Change explains CCEF’s foundational model of biblical change from Jeremiah 17. The 12-week, HPC seminar walks students through the three trees or heat-thorns-cross-fruit biblical model of change and walks people through the process of personal change by helping them to take a close look at their difficult circumstances (the heat), how they are responding to those circumstances (good=fruit tree, bad=thorn bush), and how coming to Christ for forgiveness and help (the cross/third tree) brings Spirit-led change of love for God and people.
